최고의 도시! 시부야에 오다 The best city! Come to Shibuya.
도쿄여행에서 절대 빼놓을 수 없는 곳. 도쿄에 왔으면 꼭 한번은 가봐야 하는 곳인 시부야에 다녀왔어요. A must-have to going place if you went for a trip to Tokyo. Shibuya is a must-visit place.
일본에서 가장 핫하고 젊음이 가득한 곳입니다. 물론 어마어마한 인파 속에서 파묻혀 살짝 짜증도 나겠지만, 에너지와 젊음, 설렘을 느끼게 해 주는 곳입니다. It is the most famous and feeling youthful filling place in Japan. Of course, it may be a little annoying to be buried in a huge crowd, but it is a place that makes you feel energy, youth, and excitement.
옷차림과 스타일링에서 특유의 개성을 마음껏 표출하고, 남녀노소를 구분하지 않고 자신감이 넘치는 모습이 가득합니다. They express their unique personality in their clothes and styling, and they are full of confidence regardless of gender and age.
시부야역에서 본 시부야거리 입니다. 일명 도겐자카라고 불리는 곳이죠. It's Shibuya Street I saw from Shibuya Station. It's a place called Dogenzaka.
도겐자카 Dogenzaka
시부야역에서 나오면 제일 먼저 마주하는 곳이 도겐자카입니다. 도쿄 관련한 TV프로그램이나 영화, 드라마를 보면 심심치 않게 나오는 곳이죠. When you get out of Shibuya Station, the first place you face is Dogenzaka. It's a place that comes out often when you watch TV programs, movies, or dramas related to Tokyo.
시부야의 메인 스트리트답게, 어마어마한 사람들이 이 곳을 지나다녔습니다. 신기했던 것은 횡단보도 신호가 굉장히 빠르게 바뀐다는 것이었죠. 자동차 3대정도 지나갈 시간이면 금방 횡단보도 신호가 돌아옵니다. 그래서 교통체증도 심해 보였어요. 한국의 강남 같은 곳이에요. Like the main street of Shibuya, a huge crowd of people walked through it. What was interesting was that the crosswalk signal changed very quickly. It's time for about three cars to pass, the crosswalk signal returned soon. That's why the traffic looked bad. It's like Gangnam in Korea.
정면에 보이는 곳은 시부야 109-2 라는 10대 전용 쇼핑몰이라고 합니다. 하지만 사람들이 저 곳으로 가는 것을 거의 보지 못했어요. The place you can see in front of you is Shibuya 109-2, a shopping mall dedicated to teenagers. But I rarely saw people go there.
횡단보도를 사이에 두고, 시부야 109-2와 시부야 109가 마주보고 있습니다. 오히려 109로 사람들이 가는 것을 보면, 시부야 여기가 더 인기 많은 곳인가 봐요. With a crosswalk in between, Shibuya 109-2 and Shibuya 109 face each other. If you look at people going to 109, Shibuya must be a more popular place.

큐프런트를 시작으로 시부야의 스트리트가 이어집니다. Starting with Q Front, Shibuya's street will continue.
큐프런트를 나와서는 길게 이어지는 길을 따라 걸었어요. 사람들 대부분이 이 거리를 시작으로 이동하고 있었기 때문에, 사람들 따라서 걸어봐다녔어요. After leaving the Q front, I walked along a long road. Since most of the people were moving to the beginning of this street, I followed them around.
많은 사람들 속을 헤집고 다니는 것이 쉽지 않았습니다. 그래도 '거리의 중심에서 소리치다' 를 해보고 싶었지만 용기는 나지 않았어요. It wasn't easy to get around in a lot of people. I wanted to try "Shout Out in the Center of the Street" but I didn't have the courage.
이 길을 따라 가다보면 시부야 센터가이 끝에 있는 도큐백화점 본점이 나옵니다. 하지만 살게 없어서 그냥 지나쳤어요. If you follow this road, you will find Tokyo Department Store's main branch at the end of Shibuya Center. But I didn't go inside, so I just passed by because I don't want to buy anything.
분카무라도리에 저녁이 오다 Evening Comes in Bunkamuradori
어느새 시간은 5시를 지나고 있었고, 시부야에서 다시 한 곳을 더 가기로 계획이 있었기 때문에, 몸도 마음도 급해졌습니다. 서둘러서 분카무라도리를 향했습니다. Before I knew it, it was past 5 o'clock, and I was in a hurry because I had a plan to go to another place in Shibuya. I hurried to Bunkamuradori.

한국에서도 이정도 규모의 매장을 본 적이 없어요. 단순한 할인점의 개념을 뛰어넘은, 심지어 잡동사니를 비롯해서 매니아를 위한 것까지.. 정말 없는 것 빼고는 다 있는, 우리나라의 이마트 같은 할인점과는 다른 개념의, 종합 창고입니다. I've never seen a store this big in Korea either. Beyond just the idea of a discount store, even junk and for maniacs. It's a comprehensive warehouse with a different concept from discount stores like E-Mart in Korea.
1000원샵 제품부터 성인용품까지.. 정말 다양한 물건, 가격대 제품이 있는 만능 만물상이에요. From 1,000 won shop products to adult products... It's an all-around shop with a variety of items and products at a price range.
이 곳에서 오랜시간을 보낼 것이라고는 상상조차 못했습니다. 그냥 스쳐 지나가는 곳 중에 하나로 생각했는데, 1시간이 훌쩍 지나버렸어요. 3층까지 된 엄청난 규모에, 슬쩍 지나치는 것만으로도 시간이 훌쩍 지나버리고, 신기하고 재미있는 물건 앞에서는 시간 가는 줄 모르고 놀다 왔어요. I never imagined I'd spend a long time here. I thought it was just one of the places that passed by, but it's been an hour. It's a huge scale up to the third floor, and time passed by just passing by, and I lost track of time in front of strange and interesting objects.
확실히 우리나라와는 문화가 틀리구나, 생각했어요. 우리도 많이 개방적으로 바뀌고는 있지만, 아직 따라가기에는 넘사벽이네요. 이런 것들을 이렇게 아무렇지도 않게 판다는게 놀랍기도 했지만, 자꾸 보니까 괜찮은 것 같네요. 줄 사람도 없는데 왜 자꾸 눈길이 가는걸까? 왜 사다 주고 싶다는 생각이 충동적으로 들었을까? I thought the culture is definitely different from Korean. We're also changing a lot, but it's still too much to keep up with. I was surprised that they sell these things casually, but I think it's okay because I keep looking at them. I don't have anyone to give it to, but why do I keep looking at it? Why did it feel like I wanted to buy it for you?
시부야에 어둠이 찾아오다 Darkness Comes to Shibuya
어느덧 저녁 7시가 지났어요. 시부야 거리가 어둑어둑해지고 불빛들이 가득찼습니다. 이미 시부야를 떠나서 이동했어야 할 시간이 지났어요. 그래도 시부야에서 만족스러운 하루를 보냈습니다. 나름대로 시간에 쫓기어서 다녔지만, 여행을 다닐 때 항상 부족하게 느끼는 건, 항상 시간인 것 같습니다. It's already past 7 p.m. Shibuya street became dim and full of lights. It's already past the time I should have left Shibuya and moved. Still, I had a satisfying day in Shibuya. I've been pressed for time in my own way, but I think it's always time that I feel lacking when I travel.
시부야는 낮에는 인파에 놀라고, 저녁에는 불빛에 놀랍니다. 오히려 저녁이 되니까, 사람들의 활기도 더 도는 것 같아요. Shibuya is surprised by the crowd during the day and by the lights in the evening. In the evening, people seem to be more energetic.
뭐하는 곳인지 들어가본 여기는 여성 전용 쇼핑 매장이었어요. 그래서 다시 황급히 바로 나왔죠. This was a women-only shopping mall where I went to see what it was. So I rushed back out.
아가씨 3명이서 열심히 홍보하는 모습에 들어간거 아니에요~ The reason what I came to was it's not that the three of women are working hard to promote it.
우리 뿐만 아니라, 지나는 사람들의 발걸음을 멈추게 했어요. 그러자 웃으면서 포즈까지 취해주는 친절함이란~ Not only me, but also passers-by stopped people's footsteps. Then they smiles and poses for us.
담배 조심 Watch out for cigarettes
스이도바시에 도착하다. Arrive at Suidobashi
도쿄돔이 도쿄역에 있다고 생각했었습니다. 당연히 그렇다고 생각했었는데, 사실 중심에서 상당히 떨어진 스이도바시에 있었어요. 전철을 이용해 이동하는 동안, 시부야에서 스이도바시로 가기 위해서는 환승을 해야만 했습니다. 8시가 다 되어서야 스이도바시에 도착할 수 있었습니다. I thought Tokyo Dome was at Tokyo Station. I thought so, of course, but it was actually in Suidobashi, which is quite far from the center. While traveling by train, I had to transfer from Shibuya to Suidobashi. It was almost 8 o'clock before I could arrive at Suidobashi.
도쿄돔이라고 하면, 복합문화단지로, 매일 사람들이 넘쳐나는 곳으로 생각했습니다. 그 주위 역시 번화가로 많은 사람들으로 넘쳐날 것이라는 예상을 우습다는 듯이 빗나가게 만드는 곳이었어요. I thought Tokyo Dome was a complex cultural complex, and it was a place where people overflowed every day. It was also a place that missed the expectation that there would be a lot of people in the downtown area.
스이도바시역을 나오면 가장 먼저 보이는, 도쿄돔시티 건물입니다. 저도 처음에는 저곳인 줄 알았어요. 하지만, 길 위에 달랑 저거 하나뿐이니 주의하세요. 한참을 더 가야합니다. It is the Tokyo Dome City building that you can see first after leaving Suidobashi Station. I thought it was that place at first. However, be careful because that's the only thing on the road. It's a long way to go.

도쿄돔을 향해 걸은지, 10분이 지나고 저멀리 도쿄돔에서 보이는 불빛이 보이기 시작했어요.스이도바시는 온통 어둠이 가득합니다. 생각했던 화려함과는 거리가 상당히 먼, 어느 시골 도시같은 느낌을 주는 곳이었어요. 기운내서 도쿄돔으로 향할 수록, 전혀 다른 세계에 온 듯한 인상을 받았습니다. After walking toward the Tokyo Dome, 10 minutes later, I began to see the light from the Tokyo Dome.The city of Suidobashi is full of darkness. It was a place that felt like a rural city, far from the splendor I thought. The more I cheered up and headed to Tokyo Dome, the more I felt like I was in a completely different world.
아직도 도쿄돔은 떨어져 있지만, 도쿄돔 주변에 마련된 도쿄돔시티 속의 공원과 놀이공원에서 잠깐 쉬면서 다시 힘을 내봅니다. Although the Tokyo Dome is still far away, I take a short break from the parks and amusement parks in Tokyo Dome City around the Tokyo Dome and cheer up again.

도쿄돔 바로 옆에 있는 프리게이트. 계단을 올라가면 바로 도쿄돔이 나옵니다. 오늘은 이 곳이 마지막이니까, 여유도 부리고 싶었고, 이미 상당히 지쳐있었기 때문에, 잠시만 쉬었다 올라가기로 했습니다. Free gate right next to Tokyo Dome. If you go up the stairs, you will find Tokyo Dome right away. Since this is the last place today, I wanted to relax, and I was already quite exhausted, so I decided to rest for a while and go up.
사람들이 상당히 많았어요. 스이도바시역에서 이 곳까지 오는 동안, 사람을 한두명 밖에 못 봤는데, 아마도 이곳에 다 있는게 아닐까, 하는 생각이 들었습니다. 상당히 시원하고, 깔끔하게 잘 정리되어 있다는 느낌이 들었어요. 누구나 자유롭게 쉬었다 갈 수도 있고, 더위를 식힐 수도 있는 이 곳이 상당히 마음에 들었습니다. There were a lot of people. While coming here from Suidobashi Station, I saw only one or two people, and I wondered if they were all here. I felt that it was very cool and neatly organized. I really liked this place, where anyone could relax freely and cool off.

일본 최초의 돔형 야구장이자 복합 문화단지입니다. 베이스볼 아시아 챔피언십 대회가 열리는 등 아시아에서 가장 유명한 야구장이 아닐까 싶어요. It is Japan's first domed baseball stadium and complex cultural complex. I think it is the most famous baseball stadium in Asia, such as held the Baseball Asian Championship.
도쿄돔이라고 하면 여러가지 수식어가 붙습니다. 야구를 너무나 좋아하는 내게는 꼭 한번 가보고 싶었던 곳이자, 부러움과 경의의 대상이었던 도쿄돔에 드디어 올 수 있었습니다. 역시 기대했던 것 이상으로 벅찬 감동으로 다가왔어요. Tokyo Dome has many modifiers. I was finally able to come to Tokyo Dome, a place that I really wanted to go to because I like baseball so much, and an object of respect. As expected, it was more touching than I expected.
실제 이날 경기가 있어서, 들어가지는 못하고 주위만 어슬렁거리는 안타까운 상황이었지만, 그럼에도 도쿄돔에 왔다는 사실만으로도 내게는 너무 큰 감동과 만족을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 역시 와보길 잘했다는 생각이 들었습니다. In fact, there was a game on this day, so I couldn't go in and just wandered around, but the fact that I came to Tokyo Dome was so touching and satisfying for me. I thought it was a good thing I came here.
이 곳에 온 사람들이나 분위기는 조용하고, 어떻게 보면 한산하다는 느낌도 들지만, 잘 정돈되고 차분한 분위기 속에서, 사람들의 얼굴이나 행동들을 통해서, 단순히 야구 관람만이 아니라, 생활공간의 일부로서, 자신의 여가의 일부로 느끼는 인상을 받았습니다. 주위의 분위기나 들려오는 음악, 사람들의 모습들을 보고 있으면 지친 몸과 마음이 편안해지는 것을 느꼈습니다. 이게 여행의 묘미가 아닐까요? 새로운 곳에서 찾은 작은 행복이요. The atmosphere here is quiet, but in a well-organized and calm atmosphere, through people's faces and actions, I got the impression that it's not just baseball, it's part of the living space, it's part of my leisure. Watching the atmosphere, music, and people around me, I felt my tired body and mind relaxed. Isn't this the beauty of traveling? A little happiness found in a new place.
도쿄에 왔다면 반드시 가야할 곳, 도쿄타워. Tokyo Tower, a must-go place if you came to Tokyo.
어느 나라를 가든 그 나라의 가장 높은 곳을 올라가는 것은 너무나 당연한 거죠. No matter which country you go to, it's only natural to climb the highest point of that country.
도쿄타워에 올라서, 내려다 본 도쿄의 모습은 황홀하고 발길을 멈추게 만들었어요. 시간의 여유가 없더라도 도쿄타워에 올라가보는 것만으로도 충분히 만족할 수 있었습니다. Standing on the Tokyo Tower, looking down at Tokyo made me feel ecstatic and stop walking. Even if I didn't have enough time, I was satisfied with just going up to Tokyo Tower.
도쿄타워가 있는 하마마쓰초는 여행동안 갔던 도시중 가장 어두웠어요. 걷는 주위에 있는 불빛이라고는 저멀리 보이는 도쿄타워의 라이트 뿐이었으니까요. Hamamatsucho, where Tokyo Tower is located, was the darkest city I've ever been to during my trip. The only light around the walk was the light of the Tokyo Tower in the distance.
도쿄타워를 향해 가다보면, 저 멀리 보이는 철탑 주위로 라이트가 하트모양인 것과, 라이트 색도 바뀌는 재미있는 광경을 볼 수 있습니다. 얼핏보면 모릅니다. 자세히 봐야 알 수 있습니다. As you head to Tokyo Tower, you can see the heart-shaped light around the steel tower that you see in the distance, and the light color changes. You don't know at first glance. You have to look closely to find out.
도쿄타워에 오르기 위해서는 만만치 않은 비용을 내야 합니다. 도쿄타워에 도착했던 시간이 8시가 훌쩍 지나 있었기 때문에, 1시간도 채 못보고 내려와야 하고 입장료도 비싸서 고민했지만, 언제 또 오겠냐는 생각에 올라가기로 결정했습니다. I had to pay a lot of money to climb the Tokyo Tower. It was well past 8 o'clock when I arrived at Tokyo Tower, so I had to come down less than an hour ago and the entrance fee was expensive, but I decided to go up because I thought I would not sure I come again.
아쉬운 시간이 끝나다. The time is over.
1시간동안의 아쉽지만, 황홀했던 시간이 지났습니다. 내려와서도 대전망대에서 본 야경을 쉽게 떨치지 못하고 도쿄타워를 떠나지 못했으니까요. An hour has passed, unfortunately, an ecstatic time. Even after I came down, I couldn't easily finish my mind when I saw the night view. So I stayed a few minutes near Tokyo Tower.
도쿄타워에서 본 야경은 직접 눈으로 보지 않고는 그 감동을 전할 수 없습니다. 더욱이 내가 찍은 사진으로는 전혀 표현할 수 없었네요. 그래서 더 아쉬워요. The night view from Tokyo Tower cannot be conveyed without seeing it with my own eyes. Moreover, I couldn't express it at all with the pictures I took. That's why it's even more disappointing.
도쿄타워라는 이름만으로도, 그 상징만으로도, 도쿄타워의 존재 이유는 충분했습니다. The name Tokyo Tower itself, the symbol itself, was sufficient for the existence of Tokyo Tower's existence.
